ph3Deputy Director of Land Strategy and Asset Redevelopment /h3 p1 day ago Be among the first 25 applicants /p pThe Deputy Director of the Office of Land Strategy and Asset Redevelopment leads the City of Cleveland’s efforts to maximize the impact of publicly owned land for equitable neighborhood growth, economic development, and community benefit. This role oversees the Land Reutilization Program, Sites Team, and Asset Redevelopment Team, providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and cross‑departmental coordination to advance redevelopment goals across the city. /p pThe Deputy Director develops division strategies, policies, and procedures, leveraging data and mapping tools to proactively identify and act on redevelopment opportunities. This role also supports site assemblage, catalytic project management, and the execution of commercial, residential, and green development projects. The Deputy Director works closely with the Director of the Department of Development to ensure the Office aligns with broader city priorities and maximizes the economic, social, and environmental value of city‑owned land. /p h3Typical Tasks /h3 ul liSupervise, mentor, and lead the Land Bank, Sites, Spatial Data, and Asset Redevelopment teams. /li liDevelop and implement division strategy, policies, procedures, and performance metrics in alignment with the Department of Development’s goals. /li liLeverage city‑owned assets for commercial, residential, and greening development opportunities. /li liUse data, mapping tools, and market analysis to identify proactive redevelopment opportunities and guide investment decisions. /li liSupport site assemblage, catalytic project management, and execution of redevelopment projects. /li liOversee disposition, adaptive reuse, and redevelopment strategies across city‑owned properties. /li liCoordinate with other city departments, community stakeholders, and external partners to advance development initiatives. /li liMonitor division performance, evaluate outcomes, and provide reports and updates to the director and other leadership. /li liEnsure all division operations are equitable, transparent, and aligned with community‑centered redevelopment goals. /li liProvide subject‑matter expertise on real, real‑estate finance, and development best practices. /li liRepresent the Office in internal and external meetings, briefings, and community engagements. /li liPerform other responsibilities as assigned. /li /ul h3Minimum Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate, Public Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field from a four‑year accredited college or university. /li li7+ years of experience in real estate, community development, or related fields, including supervisory experience and leadership of cross‑function teams. /li liExperience with real estate finance, development strategy, or property disposition. /li liDemonstrated experience with data analysis, GIS/mapping tools, and proactive site identification. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster’s Degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Public Administration, or a related field. /li liExperience with municipal development, public land management, and catalytic project execution. /li liFamiliarity with commercial, residential, and green infrastructure development. /li liStrong understanding of equitable development principles and community engagement practices. /li liAbility to manage multiple priorities, complex projects, and cross‑departmental initiatives. /li liExceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills. /li /ul h3Skills /h3 ul liLeadership and team management capabilities across multiple functions. /li liStrategic thinking with the ability to implement division‑wide initiatives. /li liStrong project management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills. /li liAbility to build partnerships and maintain trust with community, government, and development stakeholders. /li liProficiency in real estate finance, market analysis, and redevelopment strategy. /li liKnowledge of development best practices, municipal regulations, and property disposition processes. /li liAbility to build rapport and collaborate with diverse groups of people, respecting community dynamics and cultural sensitivities. /li liOpen‑minded and willing to learn and grow professionally. /li /ul h3Key Principles /h3 pThe City’s guiding principles are as follows: Placing Clevelanders at the Center, Empowering Employees to Do Purposeful Work, Defining Clear and Pragmatic Objectives, Leading with Trust and Transparency, Striving for Equity in All We Do, and Embracing Change.
