ph3Deputy Director of Neighborhood Revitalization /h3 pJoin to apply for the bDeputy Director of Neighborhood Revitalization /b role at bCleveland Division of Police /b. /p pThe City of Cleveland, Department of Economic Development is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the role of bDeputy Director of Neighborhood Revitalization /b. This pivotal position will oversee a team of five or more Neighborhood Investment Managers responsible for their own dedicated wards and will play a crucial role in promoting equitable growth and revitalization in Cleveland neighborhoods. The Deputy Director will also be the point of contact for all economic development projects and small businesses looking to locate and grow in the Downtown region of the City. They will work collaboratively with local stakeholders, government officials, and community leaders to facilitate access to city resources for neighborhood businesses and developers. /p pResponsibilities include planning, managing, and coordinating all activities and personnel within the department, reporting to the Assistant Director of Economic Development, and working in partnership with Neighborhood Planners, city departments, and stakeholders. The Deputy Director will market the City’s Economic Development programs, prepare market studies, data analysis, and maps, and collect and analyze financial data to determine creditworthiness. They will structure loan and incentive terms, recommend approvals or declinations within established Department policies, and represent the Department in public meetings and presentations. /p h3Primary Responsibilities /h3 ul liSupervise and mentor a team of Neighborhood Investment Managers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. /li liServe as the primary point of contact for economic development projects within the Downtown region of Cleveland for all developers. /li liDevelop and implement strategic initiatives to promote economic development and revitalization within assigned neighborhood districts. /li liReview incentive applications and prepare presentations for loan and grant review committees. /li liPrepare legislation and work with the Law Department to prepare and execute contracts. /li liProvide site–related acquisition, development, and rehabilitation technical assistance for larger‑scale development and redevelopment opportunities within the City. /li liSecure commitments from State, Federal, and other funding sources to provide services and financial assistance to program participants and City of Cleveland businesses. /li liServe as single point of contact within assigned neighborhood district for CDCs and other neighborhood stakeholders related to Economic Development issues. /li liOversee the evaluation of businesses and development projects for potential financial incentives, ensuring alignment with city policies and objectives. /li liEngage with small businesses looking to locate and expand on targeted commercial corridors. /li liServe as the point of contact for City Council inquiries within the assigned neighborhood districts. /li liWork with department manager(s) and/or leadership to facilitate site visits for high‑growth potential businesses. /li liAssist with special projects, including those associated with the Cleveland Citywide Development Corporations. /li liRepresent the Department of Economic Development in public meetings and presentations. /li liHelp businesses and developers access department resources and assist in navigating other departments to resolve business‑related issues. /li liPerform other job–related duties as required. /li /ul h3Minimum Qualifications /h3 ul liHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. required. /li liBachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies, Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Communications, Political Science, or a closely related field required; Master’s Degree preferred. /li liTwo (2) years of full‑time paid experience in Economic Development, Banking, Finance, Real Estate Development, or a closely related field. /li liUnderstanding of contemporary social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion challenges. /li liStrong analytical, organizational, customer service, oral and written communication skills. /li liDemonstrated effectiveness at building and maintaining interpersonal relationships. /li liCommitment to public and customer service. /li liCommitment to innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit. /li liDedication to maintaining high ethical standards. /li liMust understand climate change and integrate environmental and climate justice into strategic planning, approach, and implementation. /li /ul pThe City's guiding principles are: Placing Clevelanders at the Center; Empowering Employees to Do Purposeful Work; Defining Clear and Pragmatic Objectives; Leading with Trust and Transparency; Striving for Equity in All We Do; and Embracing Change.
